My life in Toulouse, France

Toulouse, known as « La Ville Rose » (The Pink City) due to its terracotta buildings, is a vibrant city in the south of France with a rich cultural heritage and a dynamic lifestyle.

My journey in Toulouse began in June 2015 with a temp job at Cauquil through the Page Personnel agency. Thanks to this one-month assignment, I managed to find a charming two-room apartment in Quint-Fonsegrives via Nexity. Living in Quint-Fonsegrives offered a peaceful suburban atmosphere while still being close to the bustling activities of Toulouse.

After some time, I decided to try my luck in the entertainment industry. Although I struggled initially due to my unfamiliarity with the city, I discovered Toulouse’s vibrant cultural scene. I composed music and uploaded demos to my Bandcamp, eventually forming a band and performing as the guitarist. Toulouse’s numerous music venues provided a fantastic backdrop for my musical endeavors ( I saw a lot of concerts at Le Bikini and Le Metronum!).

My work experiences in Toulouse were diverse. At Lhers in Aucamville, I crafted custom parts and appreciated the meticulous work, even though it didn’t last. Later, I joined Axium Solutions Aluminium, where I made aluminum parts for Technal. Despite the modest salary, the job allowed me to enjoy Toulouse’s lifestyle.

One notable experience was preparing for my move to Australia. After completing English training and taking the IELTS exam in Marseille, I encountered a challenging situation when I was mugged in the Rangueil neighborhood when I went back home. This incident, though difficult, highlighted the importance of being cautious and informed about safety in any city.

Despite these challenges, Toulouse remains a welcoming city full of opportunities. Whether you’re interested in its rich history, lively cultural scene, or simply looking for a new place to call home, Toulouse has something to offer everyone.
